I recently heard a radio broadcst  from Dennis Prager, Who's always angry because the Far Left(Demorcrats) dont think as he does. and this miscreant had the nerve to claim that the Hijab degrades women cause they cover their faces, because in his mind, A white angalo-saxon male who has the worst history of abuse of women to be a champion of rights. He should start with criticizing  those white mostly men who have become sexual predators  in abundance in American society lately and now are mostly the ones making the laws in this country which impact womens lives. Yet America still is the most dangerous Country in the world for Women. but this man decided to talk about   a young 15 year old girl agreeing to do some sort of experiment to see if Americans are tolerant of muslim women in Hijab. so she wore it and got abused in the halls and class room of a  middle school in  Connecticut .  Theres no need  for an experiment to know if these people are this way just listen to Dennis Prager radio. The  western mind including America are intolerant of anyone who doesn't conform to their way of thinking and this leads to intolerance in all others forms of life including the issues of women.  this country has a history of intolorance. Mr prager went on to say how he felt about the Hijab giving his opinion which he has a right to, this is a free country. then he claims that the womens hijab is not part of the religion itself... Correction Mr Prager It is from the religion of Islam. NOT from men forcing women as Allah says in His book The Noble Qur'an: "

"And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their modesty, and not to display their adornment except that which appears ordinarily thereof, and to draw their veils over their necks and bosoms.."

(Sura An-Noor 24:31)

Maybe Mr Prager's hatred of Islam and Muslims is due to the media making statements like "islamic terrorism" instead of just "terrorism" has got you hating everything thats not from the fiber of this nation.

As You can see I was mad about this idiot bashing my faith I dont care how many americans white or black agree with him this is ignorance.Then he go's on to compare issues of differing between so-caled conservatives and so-called liberals while comparing Islamic issues with Homosexuality.... his speach is full of  nonsense. Why is the hijab cusing so much fuss? I'll tell you why Ignorance and Misconceptions.

Misconception: Islaam degrades women

Even though many aspects of Islaam are misunderstood by non-Muslims, the ignorance, misinformation and incorrect assumptions that are made in regards to Islaam's treatment of women are probably the most severe.

Numerous verses of the Qur.aan make it clear that men and women are equal in the sight of God. According to the teachings of Islaam, the only thing that distinguishes people in the sight of God is their level of God-consciousness. Due to this, many people are surprised to find out that Islaamic Law guaranteed rights to women over 1400 years ago and that women in Europe and America only obtained their rights recently. For example, Islaam clearly teaches that a woman is a full-person under the law, and is the spiritual equal of a male. Also, according to Islaamic Law, women have the right to own property, operate a business and receive equal pay for equal work. Women are allowed total control of their wealth, they cannot be married against their will and they are allowed to keep their own name when married.

Additionally, they have the right to inherit property and to have their marriage dissolved in the case of neglect or mistreatment. Also, Islaam does not consider a woman an "evil temptress", and thus does not blame women for the "original sin". Women in Islaam participate in all forms of worship that men participate in. Actually, the rights that Islaam gave to women over 1400 years ago were almost unheard of in the West until the 1900's.

Less than fifty years ago in England and America, a woman could not buy a house or car without the co-signature of her father or husband! Additionally, Islaam gives great respect to women and their role in society; it gives them the right to own property, marry who they want and many other rights. Also, it should be mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad's mission stopped many of the horrible practices in regards to women that were present in the society of his time. For example, the Qur.aan put an end to the pagan Arab practice of killing their baby daughters when they were born.

Additionally, Islaam put restrictions on the unrestricted polygamy of the Arabs of the time, and put many laws in place to protect the well-being of women. Today, most of the so-called reforms in the status of women came about after the West abandoned religion for secularism. Even those in the West who claim to follow the so-called "Judaeo-Christian tradition" really follow the values of Western liberalism, but just to a lesser degree than their more liberal countrymen.

If women in the Muslim World today don't have their rights, it is not because Islaam did not give them to them. The problem is that in many places alien traditions have come to overshadow the teachings of Islaam, either through ignorance or the impact of Colonialisation. But Why focus on Islam because in America women are clearly degraded in society. Just ask American women.

The last distorted image that I will cover is that of the Muslim women's dress. The western influenced media portrays our dress to be outdated and oppressive. Needless to say however, I differ with these adjectives. Our dress code does not hinder us from doing anything productive in our lives. Muslim women maintain a variety of jobs, non of which are devalued nor hampered due to their dress code. And as for the timing of muslims women's dress during these contemporary times, it seems most appropriate due to decreasing morals in the world today. 
  
For those who say that Islamic dress is outdated, they speak from great ignorance. The decreasing morality and trials of this time makes Hijaab even more in need. More than ever before sex crimes are rampant. Although this society tells women they can wear what they want to wear, anytime a rape occurs the woman is the one put on trial an one of the first questions is, "What were you wearing?" This concept seems as though it is a set up directed against the so called contemporary woman. Also there is a direct correlation between the respect a man has for a woman and the amount of her body her body she displays flauntingly. 
  
In conclusion, I hope this article helped to clear up some distorted/misunderstood aspects of Islam and women. Women in Islam are respected and held in high regard. We will never find success and/or solutions to our problems until we realise that Allaah knows best and that this disbelieving society will ruin itself.
